We reached there(me and my dad) on 24th morning, which was also the day of my mum's birthday. This was the first time I wasn't there on my mum's birthday(and probably won't be for the next 5 years). The moment we stepped out of the railway station, a group of rickshaw walas stood in front of us offering for a ride to our destination. We got into one and headed to our hotel. The roads were damaged due to the rains, which resulted in a bumpy ride, piles of garbage covering half the road were left to stink, with the other half occupied by cows lazing around. The first thought after seeing this scene was Vizag is much much better than this filthy state. It was visible that the municipal corporation did not pay any attention to the state's capital. The hotel was not at all worth the money it was charging for our stay. The rooms were smaller than a standard hotel room size, they weren't clean, the hotel lift was stinking and I plugged my nose each time before entering, and we didn't have any other choice but to use the lift as our room was on the fourth floor. The room we were allotted at first lacked ventilation, nevertheless we freshened up and went to accomplish the task we came for(registering for spot round). After reaching NIT Raipur we find out that the spot round registration has been delayed for some reason, so we went to a few malls in the city to pass our time and completed another task of collecting a draft that was pending from IIM Raipur. IIM Raipur was on the outskirts of the city so that trip was refreshing! I enjoyed the greenery and the lakes around us. Raipur has numerous lakes, that city will never run out of water!
On the way to IIM Raipur. |
After wandering for quite some time we returned back to our filthy hotel and asked the manager to change our room and give us a better one. He gave us the adjacent room which was not that great but definitely better than the previous one. I enjoyed the greenery of the fields and the forests on my day time train journey back to Vizag, and was relieved to be finally home!

And this is where I am going! NIT Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh! My parents are really proud of me! My mum always wanted one of her daughters' to graduate from NIT! Her wish was fulfilled and so was mine after waiting patiently for a long time...
Now for another 5 years of working hard and giving my best! :)
